Blissful Summer
Fanservice and not much else
In theory, a light flick about the coming of age of a trio of high school buddies, but really just an excuse to stare at the leading girl and her many panty shots.
Soft, soft-core porn/comedy.
Given the language barrier, it took me a little while to realize that this was a straight-up comedy, and that the terrible camera work and poor dialogue was likely intentional. That being said, the film is sort of a softer version of a soft-core porn, and the sexuality is generally presented in, or interrupted by, a comedic light. Some gags, although markedly Japanese in nature, actually made me laugh, and I must say, the translators of this film took care to express tone as well as language by expertly utilizing English slang. The film is fine to kill some time with, but I doubt I would ever watch it again, and given three years, I probably won't remember that I ever had.
a nother perspective of the same story
it was a fun movie to watch especially since it was not from an American perspective with regard to coming of age. i wonder why there's no summer program in Japan as these were students who would continue high school following summer.
